A Belfast institution, reimagined. Nestled in the heart of the city and long loved by Queen's students, local workers and visiting tourists alike, Parlour Bar has evolved to meet the needs of its energetic, eclectic crowd while never losing its soul. Working alongside Aoife Mulvenna of Fada Studio and the team at Canvas Galleries, we set out to create a space that felt cosy and distinctive — full of interesting nooks and thoughtful detailing. Iconic features of the original bar were retained and accentuated, woven together with new additions that honour the building's history while bringing it firmly into the present. Throughout the space, bespoke hand-painted signage from Tony at Moore Letters adds character to every corner — from wayfinding and naming to the smallest pieces of messaging. It took a huge team to bring this one to life: local craftspeople, contractors, mosaic tilers, woodworkers and sound system builders all played their part, each contributing to the same ethos — a true neighbourhood bar, built for the people of Belfast.
